  • Roman Leal

    Managing Partner

    Roman focuses on Fintech and SaaS opportunities. Before founding LEAP, Roman held various positions in financial services and fintech, including notable roles at PayPal and Goldman Sachs. At PayPal, Roman co-led initiatives in next-gen financial services, digital currencies, and peer-to-peer strategies. During his time at Goldman Sachs, he specialized in Financial Technology and provided strategic guidance to startups worldwide through the Emerging Technology Research and Payment Processing platforms, offering valuable market and product insights. Roman holds a joint degree in Economics and Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a CFA Charterholder.

  • Roberto Aguayo

    General Partner

    Roberto focuses on SaaS and E-commerce opportunities. With an entrepreneurial background, Roberto brings a hands-on approach to actively support our portfolio companies. He also leads the LEAP Family Office Network initiative internally. Additionally, Roberto has corporate experience and has held various roles at Caffenio, one of the largest coffee distributors/retailers in LATAM, where he currently serves as a board member. Roberto holds an MBA from the University of Texas. He is also a co-founder of Mint Machine Technologies (Exit) and serves as a Board Member at Caffenio, one of the largest family-owned coffee businesses in Latin America.

  • Paulo Herman

    Vice President

    Paulo leads investment strategy and due diligence at Leap, bringing over a decade of experience in investments and portfolio management. Previously, he served as Chief Investment Officer at Grupo Delta, a prominent Central American family office, where he managed public and private market investments, with a focus on alternative assets from growth to late stage opportunities. As an early team member at ETFdb.com (now VettaFi), Paulo gained hands-on operational experience during the platform’s growth and its eventual acquisition by TMX Group. He is also an active angel investor, supporting early-stage startups. Paulo’s investment insights and market analysis have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, The Boston Globe, and MarketWatch. He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate, from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

  • Cuco Vega

    Vice President

    With two decades of experience as an engineer, creative director, and entrepreneur, Cuco brings a holistic, multidisciplinary perspective to venture capital. His entrepreneurial journey began with TWO22, a digital studio that helped startups bring bold ideas to life, followed by Bexi, an ad-tech company making digital marketing more data-driven and scalable. These experiences deepened his empathy for founders and shaped his practical approach to venture investing. Before joining LEAP, Cuco established the first business development office connecting Guadalajara’s startup ecosystem with San Francisco. This initiative opened pathways for cross-border innovation through programs such as the Mexican Startup Visa, a Startup Soft-landing Program, and partnerships with Google, Airbnb, and the NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center. At LEAP, Cuco leverages creativity, technical insight, and operational expertise to identify and support high-potential startups. Cuco is a full-time nomad, embracing a beginner’s mindset to challenge convention and foster growth in every aspect of life.

  • Manuel Yañez

    Director of Finance

    Manuel leads finance and investor relations at LEAP, overseeing fund operations and managing relationships with accountants, legal counsel, and auditors. He also works closely with the investment team to support financial and legal due diligence for portfolio companies.
    Since 2014, Manuel has worked in the US and Mexico's VC sectors. He previously worked at Nacional Financiera (NAFIN), an institution pivotal to Mexico's venture capital growth that funded US and Latin American VC funds. At NAFIN, he helped select and invest in over 14 VC funds and served on the boards of companies in which NAFIN invested directly. Before LEAP, he was with GC Capital, focusing on early-stage SaaS and e-commerce investments. “

  • Eva Lepe

    Director of Marketing and Communication

    Eva is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at LEAP, where she leads initiatives to enhance brand visibility and engagement across digital and traditional channels. She also manages key external events, including LEAP Connect, RTN Connect, and the Founder Spotlight series. With a strong background in operations, HR, branding, and event planning, Eva brings a versatile skill set to marketing leadership. Prior to LEAP, she co-founded Bottega Events, an event planning agency. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a focus on Public Relations from San Jose State University.
